NC Chamber Names Senator Kirk deViere A “Jobs Advocate”

Sen. deViere’s Commendable Voting Record Recognized in State Chamber of Commerce Report

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC Chamber today named Senator Kirk deViere a 2019 – 2020 Jobs Advocate in its annual How They Voted report. How They Voted details state legislators’ voting records on bills identified as critical to preserving and enhancing North Carolina’s position in the national race for jobs. Sen. deViere was recognized as a Jobs Advocate for voting with the Chamber’s Jobs Agenda at least 70 percent of the time and improving over their lifetime score by 10 percent or more during the 2019 – 2020 legislative biennium.

“I regularly talk to small business owners across Cumberland County and strive to best represent their voice in Raleigh.” Said Senator Kirk deViere, “As a small business owner myself, I have a firsthand perspective of the opportunities within our local economy and am committed to working with both sides of the aisle to pursue innovative solutions.”

“Following a strong, pro-jobs long session in 2019, legislators in 2020 showed an unprecedented level of bipartisanship in supporting our state’s response to COVID-19,” said NC Chamber President and CEO Gary Salamido. “We are grateful for Senator deViere’s willingness to stand up for the business community this session. We look forward to continuing to work with him to chart a pro-growth course for our state.”
