SENATOR DEVIERE TO HOST WOMEN’S HEALTH AND WELLNESS ROUNDTABLE
RALEIGH, N.C. – The office of Senator Kirk deViere (D-Cumberland) is hosting a roundtable about the Status of Women in NC: Health and Wellness report.
The roundtable on February 5th will feature a discussion on the report with the NC Department of Administration and leaders of local stakeholding organizations. The report was released last year and the full report can be viewed at http://bit.ly/NCWomensHealth.
“Bringing local stakeholders to the table with state organizations to help change outcomes for people is one of the most beneficial things that I can do as a State Senator,” said Senator deViere, “Enabling stakeholders to work together and collaborate is critical for us to make progress with women’s health.”
In his first term, Senator deViere has been an outspoken advocate for equal rights, health, and prosperity, co-sponsoring bills such as SB 455 Equality for All, and sponsoring SB 486 North Carolina Equal Pay Act.
